The CNB Rendez-Vous 2014 : Porquerolles 2nd editionon

During the weekend of 21-22 June 2014, the island of Porquerolles was the scene of the eagerly awaited 6th CNB Rendez-Vous. Bordeaux 60 owners (12 boats), faithful to this tradition, once again answered the call and, in a great first since the inception of the event, Leo and Wink, the first two CNB 76 yachts built completed the eye-catching fleet.

A 10-15 knot breeze was booked for Saturday’s Volvo race and lighter winds for the Raymarine race on the Sunday, with a temperature of 22°C in the morning rising to 27°C in the afternoon. The water temperature was between 23 and 25°C and there was a picnic at anchor on the first day, with an aperitif offered by Champagne Thiénot.
In any case, the enchanting island of Porquerolles captivated the participants this year again and we hope they will join us again next year! But where? The suspense is sustained, the tradition being that the CNB Rendez-Vous changes its home port every 2 years…

Since leaving the shipyard in Bordeaux at the beginning of May, CNB 76 No.2 Wink has already notched up nearly 2500 nautical miles. Her owner shared his first impressions with us:

"She really is a well-born boat, in spite of a few minor adjustments that needed seeing to, but that's normal for any new boat. In those first miles at sea, we discovered all her secrets - the mechanics, the electronics, as well as trimming the sails. The long, 3.5m draught keel makes Wink beautifully stiff; her 3Di genoa drives her up to 22 knots, after which the staysail takes over. In 35 knots downwind, or 40 against the wind, Wink revealed her full potential and ease of manoeuvring.  Even though the weather was rough, we travelled 1,000 nautical miles in the first five days! All accompanied by deliciously tasty meals prepared in a 5-star kitchen… Thank you CNB."
Wink is soon off to join in the CNB family reunion in Porquerolles over the weekend of 20-21-22 June, for the traditional CNB Rendez-Vous.
