and a one-off
gathered in the port de Calvi for a weekend of navigation. Each year, the CNB yacht owners are invited to spend some time at sea with the different shipyard teams. The naval architect Philippe Briand and the interior designers Jean-Marc Piaton and Rafael Bonet joined the event. This year, 150 participants took part in the event! This Corsican weekend charmed the owners who could enjoy the real, authentic Corsica.
The boats were welcomed on Friday June 14th in the evening, followed by a welcoming cocktail at the open-air theatre at the foot of the citadel, facing the sea.
Saturday was rich in emotion with two racing courses: the North Sails racing course in the morning and the Incidences one in the afternoon. These sea trips took place with 10 to 25 knots of wind and lovely sunshine. The navigators could challenge one another in the beautiful bay of Calvi with its citadel in the background. They then enjoyed a Champagne lunch at anchor, provided by our partner Thiénot, before heading off for the second race of the day.
Once ashore, the participants gathered for an evening event in the authentic and exclusive atmosphere of the U Nichjaretu restaurant, nested in the maquis between sea and mountain with an unobstructed view of the Big Blue. This was a dancing evening with a DJ beat, in the heart of the Corsican mountains. Thanks to this evening event, navigators were able to share their day's performance, debrief techniques and perfect their strategy for the next regatta of the weekend.
The next day, the navigators started the last racing course, the Volvo one. This provided the opportunity to sail past the Revellata peninsula in an engaged and convivial race with bright sunshine and slightly more wind than the previous day.
Once past the finish line, the owners sailed to the port for the final CNB Rendez-Vous evening. An opportunity to congratulate the winners:
- SAYA II won the "Prize for elegance" for the boat and its crew.
- AIDA II won the "Briand prize" awarded by the architect himself, whose prestigious signature is inseparable from the CNB yacht builders’ saga and vice versa.
It was also the opportunity to reward the winners of the races.
